design with a point of view, right down to the floor plan.

we listen first. each project starts with a story: we start wide, then cut deep.

precise enough to trust, strange enough to remember.

design matters. a café study.

espresso futurism.

equator coffees, culver city

a café is built around one working object. at equator coffees in culver city, it is the espresso machine: the source of the steam, the sound, the ritual.

counter, long view

01 — start with the working center

the espresso machine is the engine. the counter is where the work and the guest meet, so it carries the idea first.

tiled merchandise wall and curved timber bench

02 — give the idea a line

coffee grows along the equator. we gave that line a form: a counter in the nostalgic shape of a deco train, an extension of the metro platform outside at ivy station.

03 — let materials carry the story

equator red is the foreground. wave-pattern tile is the backdrop, the coastline and the steam. wood is the neutral pier.

04 — a place to connect

a platform is where people arrive, wait and meet. so is a café.

every space has a working center. let's find yours.

great design isn't always what you see, but it's always what they remember.
